# BadgeWars > BadgeWars is a website of live, embeddable SVG badges for GitHub READMEs and personal websites. There are five badges, each with its own public leaderboard, and an embedded badge image updates by itself when its holder's position changes. The site is available in Spanish (https://badgewars.com/) and English (https://badgewars.com/en). BC are closed-loop software credits. The price reference is 1 BC = 1 EUR, before applicable taxes; checkout may offer conversion into supported local currencies. The minimum top-up is 5 BC. Credits have no monetary value outside BadgeWars, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Mandatory consumer rights apply. Payment availability is shown inside the authenticated account; this document does not enable purchases. ## Badges and public listings - [The Apex Flex](https://badgewars.com/leaderboard/flex) (from 1 BC): competitive positions determined by BC spent; entry starts at 1 BC. Only a confirmed, atomic purchase updates the rank. A concurrent rejected purchase does not spend credits. The initial ranking is open without an announced end date; future closed rankings retain their final positions and badges. - [Don't Click This](https://badgewars.com/leaderboard/bait) (from 5 BC): a playful profile badge whose state and holder change through paid interactions. - [Build Funded](https://badgewars.com/leaderboard/funded) (50 BC): unlimited personal developer badges for a fixed activation cost. The directory lists their owners and acquisition dates; ownership does not transfer between users. - [Trust Bag](https://badgewars.com/leaderboard/trust) (20 BC activation): community support increases points without a cap. The SVG shows the current reliability rank and visual tier. Points reflect paid support, not independent verification of professional quality. Contribution details are private; an owner may show up to five leading contributors. - [Genesis Edition](https://badgewars.com/leaderboard/genesis) (1,000 BC): a fixed edition of ten personal badges, with every holder listed separately. The activation price is 1,000 BC. ## Accounts and embeds - [Badge catalog](https://badgewars.com/): descriptions, current public states and navigation. - [Personal collection](https://badgewars.com/collection): signing in is required to obtain personal HTML, Markdown and SVG embed codes. Do not request another user's private collection or import code. Each account sets its public handle in My badges before acquiring badges or contributing. Handles use 2–24 characters without spaces: Latin letters (accents included), digits, punctuation, symbols such as . , @ & $ and emoji. They are unique without regard to letter case, and are locked for 14 days after being set or changed. A change applies to that account's public badges and contributions without changing its personal links, levels or final closed ranks. - [Public state API](https://badgewars.com/api/arena): read-only published badge state and public listings. Data can be cached; no wallet or private contribution details are included. Embeds load a personal SVG dynamically. Suspension or payment review disables the active badge and shows a neutral account-status design linking back to the site. Do not present suspended badges as active. Authentication, purchases and support actions require the user's own session and confirmation; no anonymous purchase or account-management agent tools are provided. ## How to add a badge to a GitHub README 1. Sign in at https://badgewars.com/collection and acquire a badge. 2. In My badges, press "Copy embed code" on that badge and choose the Markdown format. 3. Paste the code into the README. The image is a live SVG: it does not need to be copied again when the badge changes. Caching can delay a change by a few minutes. ## Frequently asked questions - What is BadgeWars?
